Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used and popular approach in changing maladaptive behaviour or rigid ways of thinking and feeling. CBT is a therapeutic intervention that is founded from cognitive and behaviour psychological models.

By identifying negative or distorted thought perceptions this therapy aims to help change those thoughts and ultimately the way the person feels, encouraging better coping skills. CBT does not focus on the past but rather concentrates on how your current thinking and behaviour cause your current difficulties
